Pistachio cakes are usually green because somebody made them green. Real pistachio paste is the colour of olive oil and khaki, and that is what this is.
The rose is rosewater in the syrup rather than in the cream, which is the difference between a cake that tastes of roses and one that tastes of soap. Two grams in a litre. We have tried three and it was too much.
Contains nuts, obviously and deliberately.
