About the appointment

Diagnostic services may be requested by a clinician as part of an individual care plan. The correct appointment depends on the request, the type of investigation and the facilities available at a particular branch. A reception team should check these details before confirming a booking. The catalogue on this demo is not a menu of tests to select without clinical advice.

During the visit

On arrival, staff check the appointment details and explain the process for the investigation that has been arranged. You should have an opportunity to ask practical questions about the visit and how the report will be handled. Consent requirements and any preparation instructions belong to the specific procedure; they cannot be replaced by a general website checklist.

Before you attend

Use the instructions issued with your actual appointment. If they are missing or unclear, contact the clinic before attending. Bring the referral or request form if it has been requested. Do not change medication, food or drink routines on the basis of this demo content.

After the consultation

Confirm who will receive the result, how it will be communicated and whether a follow-up consultation is already arranged. Turnaround times vary by service and should be confirmed for the individual booking. A result should be discussed with the clinician responsible for your care.
