Choosing a clinician
Look for the appointment type you need and check whether a referral is required. Confirm the branch where the consultation takes place, since a clinician may see patients at more than one location. If you need a particular language or communication arrangement, ask the booking team before choosing a time.
When choosing an appointment, distinguish a first consultation from a review. If you have already seen a clinician, ask whether the follow-up should be with the same person and whether any requested information needs to arrive beforehand.
Continuity and communication
Ask how consultation summaries and reports will be shared with you and, where appropriate, with your regular care provider. If you need an interpreter or a particular communication arrangement, explain this to the team before the visit so that it can be confirmed.
