What the quoted fee covers
A consultation fee applies to the appointment described in the confirmation. Separately arranged tests, procedures, letters or additional visits may have their own charges. Ask for these charges to be explained before agreeing to an additional service.
Investigations and treatment
There is no single fee for every diagnostic appointment. The service requested, the procedure and the location may affect the quote. Ask for written information about what has been arranged and how the result will be reviewed. A consultation alone should not be described as including investigations that have not been booked.
Payment and insurance
Confirm the accepted payment methods and when payment is due. If you intend to use insurance, check your own policy and ask the provider which authorisation details it requires. Listing an insurer’s name is not a guarantee that a particular appointment is covered.
Changes and cancellations
Cancellation terms should be supplied before a real booking is confirmed. Ask how much notice is required, how to contact the team and whether any fee applies. Keep the confirmation of a cancellation or change so that there is a clear record of the arrangement.
