We take our own products apart in public, because a repairability claim nobody has tested is marketing.
Six screws
All six are the same size — a small thing that matters at eleven o’clock on a weeknight with the parts spread across a desk. There are no clips. Clips are cheaper than screws and they break, and the person they break for is the second owner.
The plate
Gasket-mounted on silicone strips rather than screwed to the case. It is why the board sounds the way it does, and it means the plate assembly lifts out as one piece with the switches still in it.
What is soldered
The controller, the USB-C socket and nothing else. The socket is the part that fails most often on any keyboard, and it is on a daughterboard joined by a ribbon — so replacing it is a five-minute job and a £6 part, not a new board.
The part we would change
The stabilisers are screw-in but the screws are underneath the plate, so changing them means taking the plate out. The next revision moves them.
